Running a Training Plan
Introduction
After creating a training plan, the next step is to complete the session using iSoccer's guided training system.
Training plans can be completed using different execution modes, allowing you to train in the way that best suits your environment and training style.
Every completed session contributes to your training history, progress tracking, and performance statistics.
Starting a Training Session
To begin training:
- Open your Dashboard.
- Locate the training plan you wish to complete.
- Select the plan.
- Review the drills included in the session.
- Start the training session.
Before beginning, ensure you have:
- Enough space to train safely
- Required equipment
- A suitable training surface
- Sufficient time to complete the session
Understanding Training Modes
iSoccer currently supports two primary execution modes.
Step-by-Step Mode
Step-by-Step Mode guides you through each drill individually.
This mode is ideal when:
- Learning new drills
- Following detailed instructions
- Training without strict time limits
- Focusing on technique and quality
For each drill you can:
- Review the instructions
- Watch available demonstration videos
- Complete the drill at your own pace
- Move to the next drill when ready
Actual completion time is recorded and used in your training statistics.
Timer Mode
Timer Mode uses countdown timers to guide your session.
This mode is ideal when:
- Following structured conditioning sessions
- Training with fixed work periods
- Maintaining consistent session timing
- Training in groups
During Timer Mode:
- Drill durations control the countdown timer
- Rest periods may occur between drills
- Audible alerts may be provided
- The session progresses according to the defined timing structure
Timer Mode provides a more structured and time-controlled training experience.
Understanding Drill Information
Each drill may include:
- Title
- Description
- Training target
- Duration
- Repetitions
- Sets
- Ball touches
- Demonstration video
Reviewing this information before beginning each drill can improve training quality and execution.
Taking Breaks During Training
At this time, iSoccer does not include a dedicated pause feature during training sessions.
If you need to stop temporarily, you can leave the session and return when you are ready to continue. Depending on the training mode being used, timing and progress tracking may be affected.
Short breaks may be useful for:
- Equipment adjustments
- Hydration breaks
- Coaching discussions
- Environmental interruptions
Future versions of iSoccer may include additional session controls such as pause and resume functionality.
Completing a Drill
After finishing a drill:
- Confirm completion.
- Review the next drill.
- Continue through the session.
Continue until all drills have been completed.
Completing the Entire Session
When the final drill in a training plan is completed, the entire session is automatically marked as complete.
A "Well Done" completion message is displayed, the training plan closes, and you are returned to your Dashboard.
A basic summary of the completed session is available on the Dashboard, while more detailed performance information can be viewed on the Results page.
The completed session is automatically recorded in your training history.
What Gets Recorded?
iSoccer records information such as:
- Session date
- Session duration
- Number of drills completed
- Estimated ball touches
- Training targets
- Completion history
This information contributes to your long-term progress tracking.
Assigned Team Plans
If you are part of a team subscription, you may receive plans assigned by your coach or team manager.
Assigned plans can be completed in the same way as personal plans.
Your coach may use assigned plans to help coordinate team development and monitor participation.
Tips for Better Training Sessions
To get the most from your training:
- Train consistently
- Focus on quality over speed
- Follow drill instructions carefully
- Complete full sessions whenever possible
- Review your results after each session
Consistent training habits generally produce better long-term improvement than occasional intensive sessions.
After Your Session
Once training is complete, visit the Results section to review:
- Session statistics
- Training trends
- Achievements
- Progress history
Understanding your results can help you identify strengths, weaknesses, and future training priorities.
