The goalkeeper pushes off the outside foot, dives toward the ball, and extends the hands to make a controlled save.

- Drive from the outside leg
- Lead with hands toward the ball
- Keep eyes on the ball through contact
- Land safely on the side of the body

- Falling instead of pushing into the dive
- Reaching late with the hands

- Taking eyes off the ball before contact
